Emma Mae (Achors) White

Emma Mae White, 77, of Linton, Indiana, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, July 2, 2017 in Indianapolis. She was born on July 28, 1939 in Doans, Indiana to James C. and Eliza (Mowery) Chaney Achors. Emma married Guy White on June 20, 1954.

Emma enjoyed taking care of her home and family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and a soap opera enthusiast. Emma was a proud military wife, traveling many places with her husband throughout her life.

Survivors include: one son, Billy D. White of Cheyenne, WY; two daughters, Dedria G. (Jeff) Hamilton of Morgantown, IN and Teresa L. (Scott) Newman of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Andy, Sara, Gary, Amy and Hilary; great-grandchildren, Preston, Maddie and Olivia; two sisters, Hildred Gahimer of Franklin, IN and Cora (Russ) Cutsinger of Shelbyville, IN.

Emma was preceded in death by: her husband, Guy White; her parents, James and Eliza Achors; brothers, John H., Joseph, Noah, Luther, James and Charles Achors; infant sister, Mary J. Achors; granddaughter, Amanda White and daughter-in-law, Connie White.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with Rev. Dan Middleton officiating. Emma will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Family and friends may visit from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Emma to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
