Evan Cole Sipes, 20, of Bloomfield, Indiana, went to Heaven, surrounded by his family, on Monday, October 10, 2016 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on June 11, 1996 in Linton, Indiana to Darren W. and D’Lee A. (Hardisty) Sipes.
Evan was a member of the Pleasantville United Methodist Church, and was a student at Owens Community College in Toledo, Ohio. He worked at MacAllister as an intern to become a Diesel Mechanic. He enjoyed bow fishing, hunting and was an avid outdoorsman. As a kid, Evan enjoyed playing sports but grew to love golf. He loved helping others with his mechanical skills and living life to the fullest. Most of all, he enjoyed time spent with his family, cousins, his girlfriend - Emilee Egnew, and friends.
Evan is survived by: his parents, Darren and D’Lee Sipes of Bloomfield; brother, Grant Sipes, at home; maternal grandmother, Gloria Hardisty of Linton; paternal grandparents, Bill and Diane Sipes of Switz City; aunts and uncles, Dayna and Rob Firestone, Pam and Chip Sweet, Scott and Diana Sipes, David Sipes and several cousins.
Evan was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Bobby Hardisty.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Friday, October 14, 2016 at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with Pastor Ron Riggs officiating. Evan will be laid to rest in Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Lyons.
Family and friends may call from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 13 and from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 14 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Evan C. Sipes Automotive Scholarship. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
