Hugh G. Vinson

Hugh G. Vinson, 69, of Terre Haute, IN, passed from this life into the arms of his Lord & Savior on Friday, March 30, 2018, at the IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.  He was born in Russellville, AL, on May 28, 1948, to Johnny C. and Grace M. (Frost) Vinson.  On June 30, 2007, he took Donna J. Dennis as his loving wife.  

Hugh was a US Army, Vietnam Veteran.  He later worked as a Tool & Die Maker for General Motors where he accumulated 42 years of service before he retired in 2008. Hugh was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church of Swartz Creek, MI.  He enjoyed spending time studying the Word of God and teaching all he had learned to others. Hugh had a kind heart and a patient spirit with everyone; he was a true gentleman who will be sorely missed.

Survivors include: his wife, Donna Vinson of Terre Haute; three daughters: Michelle (Lance) Skrceny of Wylie, TX, Lindsey Bland of Indianapolis, and Lacey (Joshua) Komis of Apex, NC; 7 grandchildren; two sisters: Irene (Roy) VanFossen of Peoria, IL and Virginia Bates of Russellville, AL; father and mother-in-law, Don and Joyce Dennis of Linton; several nieces and nephews.

Hugh was preceded in death by his parents, his 1st wife, Tamara (Johnson), a son, Brian Vinson, a sister, Christine Myrick and a brother, Eugene Vinson.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at the Anderson Poindexter Memory Chapel with Pastor Bob Parker officiating. Interment will follow in the Linton Fairview Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites by the Frank Courtney American Legion Post #22.                             .

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, and from 9:00 AM until the hour of service at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
