Maxine (Vest) Novak, 80, fell asleep in death on Sept. 6, 2016. She was born Feb. 24, 1936, in Greene County, IN, to Albert and Lucille Vest. Maxine married Junior Elwood “Woody” Chanley and, after his passing, she remarried to Richard Novak.
Maxine was a Home Maker and member of the Jehovah Witness, Kingdom Hall in Sullivan, IN.
Maxine is survived by: a daughter, Iva (Charles) Kardokus and a son, Gene Chanley, both of Linton; 7 grandchildren: Lori (John) Siglin of Linton, Jenny (Sam) Dunfee of Sullivan, Angela (Blaine) Plimpton of Hamilton, Montana, Jason (Erin) Chanley of Petersburg, IN, Amy Jo (Isaac) Will of Worthington, James (Amanda) Chanley of Spencer, Julie (Daniel) Bent of Ellettsville, IN; 25 grt.-grandchildren and 1 grt. grt.-grandchild.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Elwood Chanley and Richard Novak, and brothers, Floyd, Melvin, and David Vest.
There will be a memorial service at the Sullivan Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 3 p.m. Burial will take place on a later date.
