Nolan E. ‘Sonny’ Reeves, 72, of Switz City, IN, left this world surrounded by family, and entered Heaven on Saturday, December 17, 2016, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. He was born in Sullivan, IN, on February 10, 1944, to Nolan E. and Vera L. (Ragsdale) Reeves Page. He married Catherine A. (Messeman) on October 12, 1985.
Sonny was a Mechanical Engineer at Crane for 33 years and retired in September 2000. He was a member of the Linton First Christian Church where he taught Sunday School and took an active role in the Saturday Morning Bible Study. Sonny was also a member of the FOP #105 and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and yard work. He liked to spend leisure time at the Triple – H Gun Club, but above all, he delighted in spending quality time with his family.
Survivors include: his wife, Cathy Reeves; daughter, Jeanine (Tom) Clifford of Monroe, VA; son, Jeremy (Aimee) Reeves of Lexington, KY; step-son, Jon (Yulanda) Tankersley of Bicknell; step-daughter, Christy (Doug) Chambon of Owensville; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ronnie (Diana) Reeves of Sullivan; 3 sisters, Susie (Gary) King of Richmond, KY; Cynthia (Roger) Boston of Louisville, KY; and Virginia (Paul) Kitzmiller of Jeffersonville.
Sonny was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at the Linton First Christian Church, with pastors Warren Shake and Rod Hoschouer officiating. Sonny will be laid to rest in the Dugger Cemetery in Dugger, IN.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 20, and from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, at the Linton First Christian Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the church.
