Roy E. Mattox

Roy E. Mattox, 92, of Linton, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Terre Haute. He was born on December 11, 1924 in Shelburn, Indiana to Roy and Keitha (Bradbury) Mattox. Roy married Mary E. (Canady) Wall on July 5, 1986.

Roy was a US Navy World War II and Korean War Veteran. He was a member of the Linton First United Methodist Church, American Legion Post #22, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #7118 and the Loyal Order of the Moose. Roy retired from Navistar International Corporation in 1982 with 28 years of service.

Survivors include: his wife, Mary Mattox of Linton; two sons, David Mattox of Denver, CO and John Mattox of Libertyville, IL; one daughter, Susan (Greg) Stein of Sarasota, FL; two step-daughters, Barbara (Eric) Simpson of Indianapolis and Ardith (Carl) Peterson of Fishers, IN; six grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Mary Ann (Nastran) Mattox.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM on Monday, May 22, 2017 at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with Rev. Jack Shake officiating. Roy will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery following military graveside rites.

Family and friends may call from 12:00 PM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post #22 or the Linton First United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
