Timothy J. Latimer, 59, of rural Bloomfield, IN, was surrounded by family as he passed peacefully from this life to eternity on Wednesday evening, January 10, 2018. He was born November 10, 1958, to Raymond A. and Wilma Jean (Hedrick) Latimer. On February 10, 1979, Tim took Cheryl Ann (Everhart) to be his wedded wife.

Tim graduated from the Bloomington South High School in the class of 1976.  He was a member of the United Transportation Union, Linton BPO Elks #866, Worthington VFW Post #7117, and the Worthington American Legion Post #106 SAL.  He worked for CSX Railroad and the last 30 years for the Brennen Law Firm. Tim was a true gentleman and friend to all who knew him.  He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending leisure time playing music; especially entertaining with a group called Tim Latimer and the Nuttin’ Fancy Band. He entertained at nursing homes, charitable events, and was instrumental in establishing entertainment for the Linton Farmers Market events. Tim was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather, and friend, who will be greatly missed.

Survivors include: his wife, Cheryl Latimer; two sons, Michael (Jamie) Latimer of South Carolina and Matthew (Brianna) Latimer of Bloomfield; 7 grandchildren; a brother, Mike Latimer and a sister, Kathy (Ray) Carpenter, both of Bloomington.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton, with Brother Joe Nellson officiating. Tim will be laid to rest in the Pleasant Bethel Cemetery in Freedom, IN.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, and from 11:00 AM until the hour of service on Wednesday. 

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Riley Children’s Hospital in honor of Trevor Waldon.  Contributions can be sent to Riley Children’s Foundation, 30 South Meridian Street, Suite 200, Indianapolis, IN 46204-3509 and envelopes will, also, be available at the funeral home.
