Alberta R (Dowden) Miller

Alberta R. Miller, 89, of Linton, Indiana, went to Heaven peacefully on Friday, November 24, 2017 at Glenburn Home in Linton. She was born on September 5, 1928 in Linton to William and Edna (Jackson) Dowden. She married Chester L. ‘Chet’ Miller on September 28, 1946.

Alberta was a member of the Linton First Baptist Church. She retired from Crane Naval Base as a Logistics Engineer. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include: two sons, Rod (Christine) Miller of Indianapolis and Scott Miller of Odon; one daughter, Susan (Mike) Waters of Liberty, IL; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, Lowell Dowden of Sullivan and one sister, Judy (John) Shake of Linton; her special friend, Dorothy Shertzer and for the last five years, her Glenburn family.

Alberta was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Chet Miller and one sister, Norma Coleman.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with Rev. David Tyra officiating. Alberta will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton. Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Glenburn Home. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
