Betty Joanne 'Jo' (Brewer) Dillingham

Betty Joanne Dillingham, 82, of Linton, Indiana, passed away peacefully with loved ones at her side, on October 31, 2019 at Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton. She was born on January 5, 1937 in Mitchell, Indiana to Richard William and Geneva Margaret (Shoopman) Brewer.

Jo was a member of the 12th Street Church of God, where she enjoyed many church activities, including the visitation program and was church secretary for many years. She was the Honorable Post Mistress of Freelandville Post Office with 37 years of service when she retired in 2004. Jo was the recipient of the Golden Eagle Award, given through the post office, for saving the life of a drowning woman in the Goosepond.

Family left behind to cherish Jo’s memory includes one sister, Carol (Jim) Haldeman, along with several nieces and nephews.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Richard ‘Dickie’ Brewer and Jackie Lee Brewer.

A graveside service to honor the life of Jo will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 4, 2019 at Fairview cemetery in Linton with Pastor Chris Ferguson officiating.

There will be no public visitation.
