Cletus C. Padgett, Jr., 72, of Linton, Indiana, passed away surrounded by his loved ones at his home, on Thursday, August 23, 2018. He was born in Greene county, Indiana on June 24, 1946 to Cletus Carl and Betty June (Weaver) Padgett.
Cletus was a US Army veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the American Legion Post #22 and VFW Post #7118 Auxiliary. Cletus retired as a Demolition Supervisor at Crane in 2003 with over 30 years of service.
Survivors include: one son, Kevin Padgett (Ja-niece Hancock) of Linton; one daughter, Gwendylon Padgett of Linton; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, one sister, Diana (Curtis) Todd of Linton and special friend, Carolyn Critchfield.
Cletus was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Matthew and Alan Padgett.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM on Monday, August 27, 2018 at Meng Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton. Military honors will be held at the funeral home following the service. Cletus will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton at a later date.
Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
