Earl Eugene Meek

Earl Eugene Meek, 83, of Westphalia, Indiana, went to Heaven peacefully, surrounded by family on Friday, January 26, 2018 in Florida. He was born on April 17, 1934 in Cloverdale, Indiana to Clarence and Elsie (Heidenreich) Meek. He married his loving wife, Linda Lee (Luzander) Meek on May 9, 1981.

Earl was a member of the Salem United Church of Christ, Pioneers of Telephone Company, Past President of the Sandborn Lions Club and was chairman of the Salem UCC Cemetery Committee. He retired in 1984 as an Installer at Western Electric with 30 years of service. Earl loved fishing and working on small motors, especially Wheel Horse lawnmowers.

Survivors include: his wife, Linda Meek of Westphalia; daughter, Gayle (Joe) Adams of Vincennes, IN; son, Brian Meek of Bicknell, IN; grandsons, Joshua (Juli) Adams of Freelandville, IN and Tyler Meek of Westphalia, IN; step-grandsons, Gordon Adams of Amarillo, TX and Jody Adams of Vincennes, IN; great-granddaughter, Mandy Lou Adams; step-great-granddaughters, Gracie and Libby Adams; brother, Jim (Eleonore) Meek of Sacramento, CA; brother-in-law, Tom McQueary; several nieces and nephews.

Earl was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Frances McQueary and infant brother, William Robert Meek.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Salem United Church of Christ in Westphalia with Pastor Bryan Taylor officiating. Earl will be laid to rest in Salem UCC Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 2, at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lions Club for The Seeing Eye Dogs and Glasses Project or to the general fund at the Salem UCC Church. Envelopes will be available at the church.
