Gene Martin, friend to all who knew him. Gene was never too busy to stop and chat with you, such a wonderful person. So loving and always giving in some way. He coached our two older sons in Tennis and they loved and respected him as their coach and friend. He always went above and beyond to help these boys with tennis. Summer and family, I can't imagine the depths of your loss, but I know your dad loved all of you so very much. He will be missed so much by all who knew him and you and your family will be in our prayers. Linton has truly suffered a great loss! He will be remembered with some tears and sadness but always with smiles and joy also because that's the kind of man he was. He was loved.
Prayers for all, may he Rest In Peace in the arms of Jesus.

Gene was such a sweet kind man. I managed his Coumadin for years. We spoke nearly weekly. His picture looks as I suspected him to look. I shall miss him. He is at peace now. Blessings to all of you in this difficult time.

Brenda, thank you for everything. He adored you so much. Someday I will drop by and give you the hug and flowers he couldn't. I attached the article the paper wrote on Dad below too. Take care of yourself, Brenda. You are a lot of people's light in the darkness, including mine. Thank you again.

Tootsie was my best friend - from grade school through high school and throughout all the years thereafter and thru Sunday, April 2 when he left us all. He was the kindest, sweetest guy I ever knew. He treated everyone the same as Jesus would have treated them, which you can't get any better than that. He was a great father, son and a best friend to everyone who knew him. Everyone was proud to call him their best friend. I will miss him immensely. He was just "The Best" ~

Toots was the finest man I ever knew. His heart was as big as a Greyhound bus and his generosity is unmatched. He will be sorely missed but he will forever be remembered.
He can now rest in no pain, in the arms of our Lord.
Until our final Reunion in the sky....

Message from Luanne and Jerry Bellamy
April 3, 2017 8:09 PM

Dear Summer, Stacy and Dennis, I went to school all twelve years with your Daddy. He was the sweetest little boy, the sweetest young man, and the sweetest gentleman I have ever met. He was my "Forever Friend" and I loved him dearly.
He alone was responsible for helping our Linton Stockton Class of 1958 stay close all through these many years. I know he did so many nice things for so many people without wanting the credit for it. He will be missed.
With our love and deepest sympathy,
Luanne and Jerry Bellamy

Eugene "Toots" Martin was a wonderfully kind and devoted friend, son and father. Dave andToots grew up together in Linton and were very good friends with a bond that time and distance could not weaken. Toots was the spark that helped get the Class of '58 together for every reunion, and he was the best of hosts! He had a "bigger than life" attitude and never met a stranger. We loved him dearly and will always remember his quick wit, his laughter and the love he shared with everyone. God bless and keep his family.

Hi, Laurie and Dave! I just wanted to thank you for your post. I’m sorry it took me so long to see these but such is life. Please tell Dave that we put “He loved Linton and especially the class of 1958” on his headstone. He sure did love you all very much. Thank you again. - Summer
