Marjorie A. (Anderson) Stevens

Marjorie A. Stevens, 99, of Waterford, MI, went to Heaven, on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland. She was born in Greene Co. on May 3, 1919, the daughter of John J. and Cynthia (Burress) Anderson. On February 25, 1942, she embraced Lyman L. Stevens as her wedded husband where they had one daughter.

Marjorie was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and had also worked for the Pontiac School system as a secretary for 20 years. She was a member of Meadowbrook Christian Church in Rochester Hills.  She enjoyed working in her knitting and spending time with her family.  She will be greatly missed and remembered with love by her family and friends.

Survivors include: her daughter, Rita I. Stevens of Waterford, MI and grandson Timothy Lehman of Washington DC; five brothers, Wayne (Alice) Anderson of Sandborn, Bryce Abe Anderson of Freelandville, John Anderson of Lubbock, TX, Curt (Maye) Anderson of Sandborn, David (Heidi) Anderson of Linton and sister-in-law Babe Anderson of Westphalia. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lyman, sisters, Virginia Stanton, Dolores Hollingsworth; brothers, Sherman and Wendell Anderson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 19th, 2018 at the Meng Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel with Pastor Bryce Anderson officiating. Marjorie will be laid to rest in the Oaktown Cemetery in Oaktown, IN.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 19th at the funeral home. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Meadowbrook Christian Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
