Mary 'Short' L. (Lynn) Yount

Mary L. ‘Short’ Yount, 84, of Maryville, Tennessee, formerly of Linton, Indiana, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at her residence. She was born in Linton on January 30, 1933 to Hallie and Leona Mae (Richardson) Lynn.

Short was a member of the Linton First United Methodist Church, PSI Iota XI Sorority and the 1951 graduating class of Linton Stockton High School. Short was a Bookkeeper with 31 years of service at Anderson-Poindexter Funeral Home before she retired in 2004. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, reading and spending time with her family.

Survivors include: two sons, Brian D. Yount of Nashville, TN and David B. (Angie D. Cole) Yount of Maryville, TN; one daughter, Rebecca L. (Ross A.) Reichart of Monrovia, IN; six grandchildren, Heather Yount, Danielle Yount, Jessica Yount, Mitchell Yount and Nicole Yount, and Reece Reichart; several nieces and nephews.

Short was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with Nyle Riegle officiating. Short will be laid to rest in Samaria Cemetery in Dugger.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 4 and from 9:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM on Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Linton First United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
