Raymond B. Couch

Raymond B. Couch, 85, of Spencer, Indiana, passed away surrounded by his family, on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Aperion Care in Spencer. He was born on October 8, 1934 in Obed, Kentucky to Jim and Mary Couch. Raymond married America (Sizemore) Couch on November 19, 1954.

Raymond was a member of the Latter Day Saints and was a US Army Veteran, serving in Korea with the military police. He had worked as a cashier at Wal-Mart in Terre Haute, a security guard in Kentucky and Terre Haute and at Ray’s Appliance in Indianapolis.

Family left to cherish Raymond’s memory include: three sons, Raymond E. (Brenda) Couch of Wannamaker, Victor A. Couch of Worthington and Steve T. (Carol) Couch of Linton; daughters, Betty Joanne (Kenneth) Phillips of Linton, Vonna Jean (Patrick) Gainor of Terre Haute, Barbara K. (Jan) Arnold of Camden, OH and Ethil C. Couch of Linton; thirty-five grandchildren; seventy-seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, Stevie (Mary) Couch of Texas, Homer Couch of Indianapolis, Wilkie Couch of London, KY and Roy Couch of Martinsville; four sisters, Delphia (Bob) Clark of Corbin, KY, Stella Dill of Nashville, IN, Eva Coots of Hazard, KY and Annie (Russell) Fleener of Texas.

Raymond was preceded in death by: his wife; his parents; daughter, Mary Cassie Couch; granddaughter, Elizabeth; step-mother, Cassie (Hoskins) Couch; sister, Ruth Rice; brother, Pearl Couch and great-grandchild, Titan.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Meng Family Funeral Homes, Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton. There will be no services. Raymond will be laid to rest in Wild Dog Cemetery in Leslie County, Kentucky at a later date.
