Rick Lee Stauffer, 59, of Linton, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Terre Haute, Indiana. He was born in Albany, Oregon on June 23, 1957 to Rudolph and Debra (Setzer) Stauffer. He married his loving wife, Dorothy A.’Dee’ (Coleman) Stauffer on December 30, 1995 in Stillwell, Kansas.
Rick was a member of the Saron United Church of Christ, serving as a Trustee. He was employed as a house orderly at Union Hospital since 2003. He enjoyed fishing with Jason, sprint car racing, NASCAR, his Kansas City Chiefs and was an avid supporter of Linton Miner Football.
Survivors include: his wife, Dorothy ‘Dee’ Stauffer; two daughters, Rebecca Muth of Minnesota and Melissa Scott of Oregon; one step-son, Jason (Lisa) Younker of Oregon; grandchildren; two brothers, Larry Setzer of Washington and Garry Don Keplinger of California; two sisters, Cindy Keplinger and Lynelle Keplinger, both of Oregon; sister-in-law, Mary Sue Ensing; nieces, April Scott (Rob Whitaker) and Stacy (Anthony) Elkins; great nieces and nephews, Haley Scott, Markie Scott, Bailey Elkins and Ben Burris.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Ervin Ensing.
Honoring Rick’s wishes, there will be no public viewing or services.
