Thomas ‘Tom’ J. Chambers, 67, of Linton, Indiana, went to Heaven, with his loving wife by his side, on Friday, October 25, 2019 at his residence in Linton. He was born on August 9, 1952 in Sullivan County, Indiana to Floyd and Ruth (Corbin) Chambers. Thomas married Karen E. (Zimmerly) Chambers, on June 7, 1997.
Tom was a member of the Linton First Christian Church, UKC “United Kennel Club” and PKC “Professional Kennel Club”, McDonalds Cowboys Club. He also loved coon hunting, fishing and enjoyed conversation.
Family left to cherish the memory of Tom includes: his wife, Karen Chambers of Linton; brothers, Dean (Barbara) Chambers of Linton; Johnnie (Diane) Chambers of Linton; sister, Ruth Hope Pirtle of Dugger and several nieces and nephews.
Thomas was preceded in death by: his parents, and sister, Nikki Chambers.
A funeral service honoring Tom’s life will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Meng Family Funeral Homes, Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Warren Shake officiating. Tom will be laid to rest in Prairie Chapel Cemetery, Lyons, Indiana.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, October 28 and from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Linton First Christian Church in memory of Tom. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
