Alan W. Padgett, 61, of Linton, IN, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at the Westview Nursing Home in Bedford, Indiana. He was born August 1, 1949, to Cletus and Betty (Weaver) Padgett. Alan was later married to his wife Kelly who precedes him in death.

Alan had worked as a Correctional Officer at the Putnamville Correctional Facility and was also a bookkeeper.

Survivors include his mother, Betty Padgett of Linton; son, Michael Padgett of Terre Haute; three grandchildren, Lauren, Alex, Alexis all of Terre Haute; two brothers, Cletus Padgett and Matthew (Brenda) Padgett; a sister, Diana (Curt) Todd all of Linton

Alan was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father, Cletus on May 9, 1976 and his wife Kelly.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, with envelopes available at the funeral home.

Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel, Linton, IN with Archie Ellett officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and from 9:00 AM until time of the service on Thursday. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Linton, IN.
