Obituary

Alberta Edith "Bertie" Payne, 80, of Linton, entered eternity to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 7, 2014, with family members by her side. She was born on August 2, 1933, in Marco, IN, to Harvey and Mabel (Bennett) Payne.

Bertie attended Beauty School and worked at RCA in Bloomington for 38 years, retiring in 1996. She loved people and attended the Sullivan Free Penticostal Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. Bertie was a faithful member of the 12th Street Church of God in Linton and was active in many facets of the church which included Sunday School functions, singing, duties as the church secretary, and playing the piano. She was always doing nice deeds for others and was a wonderful friend to all who knew her. Bertie was a sweet sister and aunt, who will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her sister, Margaret Lehman of Linton and several nieces and nephews, who were all very special to her.

Bertie was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, two brothers, six nephews, and one niece.
