Aletha 'Gwen' Tibbett, 85, of Linton, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2008, at Greene County General Hospital. She was born on August 23, 1922, in Lyons, IN, to Lee A. & Rosa (Deckard) Tibbett.

Gwen was an employee of the Federal Government with the Social Security Administration, retiring in 1992. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Indianapolis, attended Linton Church of Christ and Linton First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her sister, Marlene Whitaker; one niece, Kathy Trump; three nephews, Garry, Greg and Brad Lacy; one great-niece, Stephenie Trump; and four great-nephews, Michael Lacy, Mikeal Trump, Zachary and Benjamin Lacy, all of Linton.

Gwen was preceded in death by her parents and one great-niece, Jennifer Lacy.

Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, August 10, 2008 and from 9:00 AM until the hour of service on Monday, August 11, 2008. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 AM on Monday, August 11, 2008, with Bro. Jerry Carmichael officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Lyons.
