Alma Williams, 98, of Washington, Indiana, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2010 at the Daviess Community Hospital in Washington, IN. She was born on October 3, 1912, in Plainville, IN to Alonzo C. and Lois Margaret (Lawyer) McBride. She married Russell C. Williams on September 25, 1929.

Alma was a homemaker a member of the First Baptist Church, 50 year member of Order of Eastern Star and Tri-Kappa all of Washington, IN.

Survivors include one grandson, Michael W. Garland of Washington; five great-grandchildren, Brandon, Brianna, Andrew, Trenton and Chloe Garland. Also surviving are two nieces, Jo Dearmin of Odon and Linda Dee Woodruff of Linton, and one nephew, Dr. BK Poindexter of Bluffton.

Alma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Russell who passed away in 1991; one daughter, Nancy Garland; and one grandson, James R. Garland.

Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel with Rev. Bill Mallad officiating. Interment will follow at Sugarland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Washington, Indiana.

Visitation hours will be held from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton, Indiana.
