Anna Imogene Haskins, 89, of Cadiz, Kentucky, formerly of Washington, Indiana, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011, at Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville, Tennessee. She was born in Martin County, Indiana, on June 15, 1921, to Willard Hobart and Zulah Marie (Cannon) Moore. Anna's mother passed away when she was 10 years old and she was raised by Frank and Annie Huebner. Anna was married to Robert Haskins.
Anna graduated from Plainville High School in 1939. She was very active with the Free Methodist Church in Indiana where she was the director of many Christmas and Easter Plays, taught Sunday School and was the VBS Director for many years. She was a member of the Mission Circle, Homemakers Club, and served on the Smith Township Advisory Board in Greene Co., IN. Anna was a 4-H leader, employed at the Woolworth 5-10, Montgomery Ward, Spiegel's and JC Penney as a cash auditor. She was employed at Indiana State Forestry Office, school secretary and trustee secretary and wrote many poems and stories throughout the years.
Survivors include her one son, Robert Haskins (Deborah Scott) of Asheville, NC; two daughters, Donna (Marc) Clinkenbeard of Cadiz, KY, Judy Hayes of Woodstock, GA; three grandchildren, Steve Hayes of Woodstock, GA, Dr. Julie Hayes of Parker, CO, Nathan and Trina Clinkenbeard of Cadiz, KY; three great-grandchildren, Hunter and Jaxson Clinkenbeard, and Ethan Hayes.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert Haskins, one brother, Lawrence Moore, one sister, Betty Stephens and one granddaughter, Sara Clinkenbeard.
Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 11, 2011. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Jack Haskins and Rev. Dan Holtsclaw officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Washington, Indiana.
The family has entrusted Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel of Linton with all local arrangements.
