Obituary

Anna G. Kress, 90, of Bedford, Indiana, formerly of Linton, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Shands at University of Florida. She was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on July 3, 1918, to William and Opal (Green) Baker. On August 5, 1938, she married Jack Kress.

Anna was a homemaker. She and two other sisters 'The Baker Sisters' sang on the local radio in the 1930's. She was a member of Saron United Methodist Church in Linton, Delta Theta Tau, Triad and the Women's Greene County Shrine Club. She owned/operated The Body Shoppe Figure Salon. Anna enjoyed sharing her retirement with Linton friends at the Florida RV resort.

Survivors include her sons, Jack Alan (Donna Jean) Kress of Bedford and Tom Kress of Montecito, CA and one grandson, Curtis Wade (Toni) Kress of Bedford, five great-grandchildren, Callie Noble, Kristen Kress, Donnie Kress, Morgan Kress and Rebecca Kress. Also surviving are two great-great-grandchildren.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, David Alan Kress, and six siblings.

Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, April 10, 2009 and from 9 AM until the hour of service on Saturday. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, April 11, 2009, with Pastor David Ferry officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton, IN.
