Barbara L. Murdock, 74, of Linton, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Greene County General Hospital. She was born on September 14, 1936 in Linton, Indiana to Elmo 'Dobbin' and Mary I. (Smith) Allen. She married Robert 'Red' Dale Murdock on June 1, 1952.

Barbara was a Nurses Aid at Glenburn Home for 15 years. She was a member of the Linton Church of Christ and American Legion Post #22 Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include her three sons, Tim (Peggy) Murdock of Linton, Robert (Victoria) Murdock of Detroit, MI and Raymond (Jennifer) Murdock of Sandborn; her daughter, Regina Murdock of Linton; her five grandchildren, Jeremy Murdock, Dale Murdock, Elizabeth Murdock, Lance Murdock and Cody Murdock; her great-grandson, Cash Murdock; and her brother, Loren Allen of Houston, TX.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Red, in 1983, her two brothers, Norwood and Winston Allen, and her two sisters, Rosalie Adkins and Doris Starr.

Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, April 1, 2011 and on Saturday from 10:30 AM until the hour of service. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Dick Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton, Indiana.
