Barbara J. Sanders, 84, of Linton, Indiana, formerly of Sandborn, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Glenburn Home in Linton. She was born on January 22, 1931 in Lyons, Indiana to Harry and Ruth (Miller) Shorter. Barbara became the wife of Vernon H. 'Clell' Sanders on July 24, 1948.

Barbara was a member of the Sandborn Christian Church and the Frank Courtney American Legion Post #22 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a homemaker, wife and mother who enjoyed taking care of her family.

Survivors include: her husband, Vernon 'Clell' Sanders of Sandborn; two daughters, Sandra Sue Marquart Lookebill and Melody A. (Bob) Thuis, both of Linton; three grandchildren, Stacy Thuis, Brock (Jerrie) Thuis and Amber Marquart (Jason) Hale; five great-grandchildren, Taylor, Aliyah and Taryn Thuis, Alexis and Violet Hale and one sister, Donna Lueking of Westphalia.

Barbara was preceded in death by: her parents; three brothers, Murl, Harold and John Shorter and three sisters, Mary Yenne, Nina Hill and Carolyn Middlebrooks.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the Sandborn Christian Church with Bryan Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in the Sandborn Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at the church from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 10 and from 9:00 AM until the hour of service at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 11.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made in memory of Barbara to S.A.F.E. Envelopes will be available at the church.
