Barbara J. Waggoner, 80, of Little Rock, Arkansas, formerly of Sandborn, Indiana, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born in Knox County, Indiana, on October 28, 1930, to Lyle and Fern (Hollingsworth) Holmes. Barbara married Robert Waggoner on June 2, 1950 they had three children.

Barbara was a homemaker. She was a longtime member of First Christian Church and the Believers Sunday School class, she served the church in many capacities including service on the Kindergarten Committee, volunteering at the Food Pantry, and sewing toys for needy children in the Bless and Stitch class. An avid former golfer, she had been a member of the Little Rock City, Rebsamen, Burns Park and Hindman Golf Association.

Survivors include her husband, Bob Waggoner; her two daughters, Kathy (Gery) Kremer of Lafayette, IN, and Pam (Jody) Pierce of Little Rock, AR; her daughter-in-law, Barbara C. Waggoner of Lafayette, IN; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Tommy L. Waggoner; her four brothers, Max, Charles, Rex and Billy Jack Holmes; and her sister, Juanita Bowers.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at First Christian Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. Graveside services will held at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 13, 2011 at Sandborn Cemetery in Sandborn, Indiana.

Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton, Indiana has been entrusted with local arrangements.
