Betty J. Etmeier, 85, of Sandborn, IN, passed away Friday, March 9, 2012, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. She was born on December 19, 1926 in Daviess County, IN to John Harold and Nellie Ruth (Harritt) Flynn. Betty married Max William Etmeier on March 22, 1947 and they had three sons.

Betty was a homemaker and worked for Dearmin Poultry Factory. She grew up in the Odon Christian Church and was a member of the Sandborn Baptist Church. Her hobbies included latch hook, embroidery work, baking and watching soap operas.

Betty is survived by three sons: Lonnie J. (Carol) Etmeier , John M. Etmeier, and Kevin (Glenda) Etmeier, all of Sandborn; four grandchildren: Justin, Brooke, Ben and Jacob; and one sister: Bonnie (Donald) Laughlin of Odon, IN.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Max Etmeier (11/21/1986) and one brother, Robert Flynn.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Sandborn Baptist Church with envelopes available at the church.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, March 12, 2012, at 11:00 AM at the Sandborn Baptist Church in Sandborn, IN with Pastor Scott Rasico officiating. Interment will follow at the Sandborn Cemetery in Sandborn, IN.

Visitation hours will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, March 11, 2012 and from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Monday, at the church.

The Etmeier family has entrusted Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel of Linton, IN with all funeral arrangements.
