Bonnie Claire (Haverty) Johnson, age 83, of Linton, Indiana passed away in the early hours of Saturday, January 24th, 2026, at Glenburn Nursing home in Linton. Born on October 23rd, 1942, in Canal Fulton, Ohio to Harold and Charlotte (Rothacher) Haverty, she was the oldest of their 6 children. She graduated from Brazil High School in 1960.

Bonnie was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed sewing, but her true passion was quilting. She loved creating and piecing quilts. She took pride in making quilts for her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Bonnie also loved baking. She had a tradition of baking cinnamon rolls and giving them to friends and neighbors every year for Christmas.

Bonnie was a member of the Vincennes First Baptist Church and was blessed with wonderful friends from her church family. There were 4 women in this group that created a Euchre group. They enjoyed getting together, catching up and playing cards. Bonnie loved hosting this get-together.

Family left to cherish the memories of Bonnie include daughter, Laura Place (Jeff) Dayhoff; son, Bryan (Shaye) Place; grandchildren, Ashley (Jake) Haner, Trent (Jenny) Abel, Jordan (Sally) Dayhoff, Caden Place and Lydia Place; great-grandchildren, Sylis Haner, Salem Haner and Pierce Dayhoff. Also surviving are sisters and brother, Marilyn (Larry) Branum, Cindy (Jim) Wright and Rich (Marsha) Haverty; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Preceding Bonnie in death were her parents, Harold and Charlotte Haverly; 2 sisters, Denise Nuckols and Joy Wilson, and 1 nephew, Shawn Nuckols.

Funeral services to honor the life of Bonnie will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Pastor Phillip Turner officiating. Bonnie will be laid to rest in Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Lyons.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
