Bonnie E. Phillips, 79, of Linton, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on January 4, 1942 in Newberry, Indiana, to John & Mary Anna (Mowery) Mowery. Bonnie became the wife of Wendell R. Phillips on February 16, 1961.
Bonnie worked at the General Electric Linton Plant before retiring in 1993 with over 30 years of service. After her retirement, she worked at the Sportsman's Pub and the American Legion. She was a member of the American Legion Post #22 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, and listening to music. Bonnie loved spending time with her family.
Family left to cherish the memory of Bonnie include: one son, Steven (Patricia) Phillips of Linton; one daughter, Leah Stremming of Sandborn; 4 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; one brother, Vernon (Jan) Mowery of Yorktown, IN; and two sisters, Doris Hasler and Elsie Faye French, both of Linton.
Bonnie was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband, Wendell Phillips; three brothers, Robert Bruner, William A. "Billy" Mowery and Isaac Mowery; two sisters, Mary Campbell and Margaret Foster.
Funeral services to honor the life of Bonnie will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 22, 2021 at Meng Family Funeral Homes, Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton. Bonnie will be laid to rest at Stafford Cemetery in Sandborn.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
In compliance with state regulations, social distancing and face masks are required by all attending.
Memorial contributions made be made in memory of Bonnie to Heart to Heart Hospice, 4529 South 7th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47802.
