Brenda A. Cornelius, 72, of Odon, IN, passed away on Sun., March 8, 2015, at the Daviess Community Hospital. She was born on Feb. 21, 1943, in Daviess County, IN, to Ernest Lando, Jr. and Betty J. (McNabb) Atchley.  Brenda was married on Oct. 12, 1963, to Leon 'Smokey' Cornelius.

Brenda graduated in the Class of 1961 from Odon High School and was co-owner/operator of Cornelius Service in Odon. She was a member of the Odon United Methodist Church and a past member of the Odon Rebecca Lodge.  Brenda was a wonderful homemaker, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed camping, spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren participate in sporting events.

Survivors include: her husband, Leon; a daughter, Shannon (Kevin) Meadows; two sons: Daryl (Janet) Cornelius, and Randell Cornelius all of Odon; seven grandchildren: Evan, Jenna Meadows, Audrey, Bryant and Alec Cornelius, Chelsey (Josh) Engleman, Jarrod Cornelius; one great-grandson, Jude Randell Engleman; a brother, Shelby Atchley of Odon; four sisters: Sharon Davis of Odon, Shirley Hess of Bedford, Debbie Streepy of Odon, Peggy Atchley of Lawrenceville, IL; a sister-in-law, Cheryl Atchley of Odon; her step-mother, Virginia Atchley of Odon; and several nieces and nephews.

Brenda was preceded in death by: her parents, an infant son, Jimmy Cornelius, and a brother, Stephen Atchley.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Fri. March 13, 2015, at the Odon United Methodist Church with Pastor Debbie Payne officiating. Brenda will be laid to rest in the Plainville Cemetery, in Plainville, IN.

Friends and family may call at the church on Thurs., March 12, 2015, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and from 10:00 AM until the hour of service on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made in memory of Brenda to the Daviess County Friends for Animals. Envelopes will be available at the church.
