Byron L. 'Barney' Pittman, 76, of Jasonville, Indiana, formerly of Lyons, Indiana, passed from this life, on Friday, June 14, 2024 at Shakamak Good Samaritan Center at Jasonville. Barney was born on May 29, 1948 in Sullivan, Indiana to Elra E. 'Bud' and Sharon L. (Cleveland) Pittman.

Barney was a US Army, Vietnam War Veteran. He was a member of the Lyons American Legion Post #479 and Worthington VFW Post #7117. Barney worked at Crane as a Mechanical Engineer Technician, retiring in 1997 with 30 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors and riding his Harley Davidson.

Family left to cherish the memories of Barney include: one brother, Curt (Terry) Pittman of Linton; sister, Roxie (Larry) Wertenberger of Benton, AR; sister-in-law, Jeanette Pittman of Lyons; several nieces and nephews.

Barney was preceded in death by: his parents; one son, Jeromy D. Pittman on June 7, 2014 and one brother, Gale Pittman.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Warren Shake officiating. Barney will be laid to rest in Stafford Cemetery in Sandborn, Indiana. Military rites will be presented by the Lyons American Legion Post #479.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
