Carletta E. Cook, 88, of Linton, and formerly of Sandborn, went to Heaven peacefully on Monday, July 6th, 2015. She was born in Orange County, IN, on March 15, 1927 to Earl and Pearl (Wininger) Kendall. On December 21, 1946, she married William B. Cook.
Carletta attended Calvary Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and also worked at Greene County General Hospital as a ward secretary, the position from which she retired in 1982. She thoroughly enjoyed reading her Bible and quilting. Leisure time was also spent working crossword puzzles and writing letters.
Survivors include: two daughters, Anna (Fred) Place of Linton and Bobbie Ferguson of Sandborn; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter, born July 5, 2015; and a brother, Kenneth Kendall of FL.
Carletta was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, William Cook (2003), nine siblings, and a son-in-law, Rick Ferguson.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM on Friday, July 10, 2015, at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with Pastor John Riker officiating. Carletta will be laid to rest at the Sandborn Cemetery in Sandborn, IN.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 10th.
