Catherine Berniece Bennett, 93, of Linton, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2010, at the Linton Nursing and Rehab, Linton, Indiana. Born in Switz City, Indiana, on November 26, 1916, she was the daughter of John Otis and Susie (Axe) Denman. She married Lester Bennett on December 12, 1937.

Berniece worked as a Clerk at the Axe & Fry Grocery and at Crane. She was a member of the Linton Assembly of God Church and Graduated from Dugger High School Class of 1935. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and shopping.

Surviving family includes a daughter, Carolyn Sue Bennett of Linton, IN; and one grandson, John O. Bennett of Linton, IN.

Berniece was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1978, three brothers, Charles, Dallas, Dale Denman, and one sister, Elizabeth Irene Denman.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Linton Assembly of God Church. Envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.

Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, March 21, 2010 and from 9:00 AM until the hour of service on Monday. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 22, 2010, at the funeral home with Rev. David Atkins officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
