Cecil J. Glenn, 73, of Linton, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at Greene County General Hospital. Born to Cecil and Martha Dottie (Enochs) Glenn on August 4, 1934, in Worthington, Indiana. He married Adah M. Carpenter on September 6, 1952.
Cecil was a coal miner (electrician) for Amax Coal Company, retiring in 1982. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #560 F & AM and Burris Chapel Church.
Survivors include his wife, Adah Glenn, daughters, Lena J. Brinson, Melody (Henry) Souders and Judy K. (Buck) Mullis all of Lyons, grandchildren, Johnathan and James Brinson, Misty (Ron) Hollingsworth, Christy (John) Fagg, Tyler (fiance' Katie White) and Ryan Mullis, great-grandchildren, Jordan, Haley, Samantha and Addisyn. He is also survived by one sister, Beulah East of Indianapolis and two brothers, Laurel Glenn of Indianapolis and Ray Glenn of Linton.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Ruby Bennett and JoAnna Smith, one brother, Aaron Cecil Glenn and one great-grandson Dakota Goodman.
The family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Masonic Lodge #560 F & AM. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, April 24, 2008, and from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Friday, April 25, 2008. There will be a Masonic Memorial Service conducted Thursday, April 24, 2008, at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM Friday, April 25, 2008, with Rev. Larry Goodman officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Lyons, Indiana.
