Charles P. "Pete" Bazel, 60, of Linton, Indiana, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2009, at Greene County General Hospital. He was born October 4, 1948, in Burlington, IA to Robert and Mary I. (Brooks) Bazel. On February 24, 1995, he married Loretta D. (Clark). He worked in janitorial services during his years of employment.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta D. Bazel, one son and two daughters from a previous marriage, one step-daughter, Vickie (Jerry) Heck of Linton; one step-son, James (Elizabeth) Lawson of Worthington; step-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Gerry, Timothy, Zachia, Chandler, Andrew, Christopher and Shawn. Also surviving is sisters, Lucia Swiler, Jane Ann Laue; brothers James Bazel and Richard Bazel all of Burlington, IA. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be held in K of P Cemetery, Hymera, IN at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, April 28, 2009 with Pastor Randy Raney officiating. Interment will immediately follow there at the K of P Cemetery. There will be no public viewing or visitation at the funeral home. The Bazel Family has entrusted these arrangements with the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton.
