Obituary

Charles L. 'Chuck' Franklin, 74, of Linton, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013 at the IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington, IN. Charles was born in Greene County, Indiana on May 16, 1939 to James H. 'Fly' and Dessie Powell Franklin. He married Linda L. (Stephens) Franklin on March 3, 1967.

Charles was a US Air Force veteran. He was a member of the Lebanon Baptist Church and Habitat for Humanity. Charles retired from NWSC in 1995 as an Electronic Technician with 28 years experience.

Surviving are: his wife, Linda; one daughter, Lara (Brad) Spece of Independence, IA; one son, Jonathan (Jennifer) Franklin of Shelburn, IN; three granddaughters: Zoe Moon, Emma Bean Franklin and Parker Gale Spece; one brother, Alden Franklin of Indianapolis and two sisters, Dorothy Jones of Linton and Vergie Delores (Hanford) Magby of Greenwood.

Charles was preceded in death by: his parents; six brothers, William Hardesty, Paul, Robert, Billie, James 'Red' and Kenneth Franklin and one sister, Mary Franklin.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with Pastor Michael Rotman and Rev. Kenneth Franklin officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 24 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and from 11:00 AM until the hour of service on Thursday.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Habitat for Humanity. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
