Charles (Wayne) Heim, 88, of Carmel, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2007 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. Born in Greene County, IN, on Sept. 10, 1919, he was the son of H. Ray and Hallie J. (Brewer) Heim. He married Alma Catherine Berry and they had two children, Chuck and Judy. He was a member of Castleview Baptist Church and was an avid gardener. Mr. Heim was a graduate of Lyons High School and served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. After serving our country in the military, he worked in Hardware, Plumbing and Heating sales at Sears Roebuck and Company, retiring in 1982.

Survivors include, one daughter, Judy Heim, of Carmel, IN.; and one sister, Mary Taylor, of Carmel, IN.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, wife Alma Heim and son Chuck Heim.

Friends may call at the Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center in Carmel, IN from 4 pm until 7 pm Wednesday, October 24, 2007 and from 1 pm until the hour of service at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton, Thursday, October 25, 2007. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2007, at 1:30 PM with Rev. Scott Rasico officiating. Burial will follow at Sandborn Cemetery in Sandborn, IN.
