Obituary

Charles W. Tincher, 85, of Lyons, Indiana, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2011, at Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton. He was born on August 20, 1926, in Greene Co., Indiana, to Murl Irvin and Bessie (Padgett) Tincher. Charles married Hazel M. Crynes on March 1, 1958.

Charles served in the US Army during WWII where he received 2 Bronze Stars during his enlistment. He was employed at the GE Plant in Linton where he had 31 years of service. Charles was a member of the American Legion Post #22 and the VFW Post #7118 of Linton.

Survivors include one sister, Annalee Hostettler of Worthington and several nieces and nephews. Charles was also survived by long-time special friend, Evelyn Mullis.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hazel Tincher, October 11, 1991; three brothers, Paul, Elmo and Robert Tincher; and one sister, Velma Knowles.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 3, 2011, at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery with full Military Rites.

Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday.
