Obituary

Clara Belle McKee, 84, of Sandborn, IN, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2009, at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. She was a life long resident of Sandborn, IN, born on November 17, 1924, to Coy and Sadie (Spencer) Williams. On October 11, 1946, she married Alvin E. McKee.

Clara Belle worked on the assembly line for General Electric at the Linton Plant for 35 years and retired in 1988. She was a member of the Sandborn Christian Church, Order of Eastern Star Chapter, Zorah Shrine Ladies Auxiliary, Loyal Order of the Moose, and American Legion Post #22 Ladies Auxiliary. Clara Belle and her husband enjoyed participating in parades and had sported an equestrian unit in the Linton Freedom Festival Parade for 53 consecutive years.

Survivors include two sisters: Anna Mae Wagoner and Eloise Sanders, both of Sandborn, IN, and several nieces and nephews.

Clara Belle was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alvin (7/29/2007), and a sister, Edith M. Harris.

Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, January 19th, 2009, and on Tuesday, January 20th, 2009, from 9:00 AM until the hour of service. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM on Tuesday with Bryan Sanders officiating. Interment will follow at Stafford Cemetery in Sandborn, IN.
