Dale D. Hardesty, 73, of rural Linton, Indiana, passed away Monday, April 14, 2008, at his residence. Born in Jasonville, Indiana, on July 7, 1934, he was the son of Forest and Tidy Faye (Myers) Hardesty. On December 23, 1961, he married Mae 'Rose' Tryon, who preceded him in death August 29, 1995.
Dale owned & operated Hardesty Drilling & Testing and was a previous owner of The Sportsman's Pub in Linton. He retired in 2000. Memberships include PER of BPO Elks #866, Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, Zorah Shrine, Sullivan County Shrine Club, Sons of the America Legion of Jasonville, Loyal Order of the Moose #1434, and Jasonville Masonic Lodge #530 F & AM.
Survivors include his longtime companion, Emily Earle of Linton, Emily's two sons, Jacob Earle (Heather Shanes) and Steven (Angela) Earle both of Linton, four grandchildren, a cousin, Lois Spaulding of South Bend, and a great nephew, Scott McCammon of Oregon.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mae Rose Hardesty, a half brother, Ray McCammon and a nephew, Larry McCammon.
Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, April 16, 2008, with an Elks Memorial Service at 7:00 PM. Calling will resume on Thursday, April 17, 2008, and from 9:00 AM until the hour of service. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM with Mark Messmer officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
