Donald M. Herndon, 68, of Linton, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2013 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born in Linton, Indiana on August 10, 1945 to Eugene P. and Mary N. (Lehman) Herndon. Don married Delphia 'June' Chambers on September 21, 1973.
Don was a US Army Vietnam Veteran and was a member of the Lyons Assembly of God Church. He was employed at the Bloomfield Jack Factory in Bloomfield with 15 years of service.
Survivors include: his wife, June; one son, Todd Herndon of Newtonsville, OH; two daughters, Terri Pickard of Shelburn and Dawn R. (Herndon) Botsford of Linton, IN; eight grandchildren, Brianna, Lindsey, Mary Ann, Jackie, Arik, Madison, Ethan and Dylan; two great-grandchildren, Brayln and Kaden; two brothers, Phillip (Bonnie) Herndon of Linton, Doc (Susan) Herndon of Jasonville and one sister, Naoma Cooper of Jasonville. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents and one grandson, Logan Botsford.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 19, 2013 at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with the Rev. Gerald DeVore officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel on Sunday, August 18 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and from 11:00 AM until the hour of service on Monday.
