Donald G. Mitchell, 78, of Linton, IN passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at his residence in Linton. He was born in Linton, IN, on October 26, 1932 and was the son of Ray and Beatrice R. (Risher) Mitchell. On May 16, 1953 Donald married Marian Y. (Lovelace) and they had two children.

Donald was a Crane Operator at the Crane Navel Weapons Support Center and he retired in 1990. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Donald was a member of the Linton First Baptist Church and a member of the Frank Courtney American Legion Post #22.

Survivors include one daughter, Jeanne (Ron) Keiffer of Martinsville, IN; one son, Mike (Suzy) Mitchell of Carmel, IN; grandchildren, Miranda (Joe) Flynn, & Kristi (Tony) WeWora; two great-grandchildren, Joseph & Kenzie Flynn; one sister, Delores (John) Padgett of Linton, IN; and one brother, John Stough of Linton, IN.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marian Mitchell (10/10/2003), and one brother, Bill Mitchell.

Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton, IN from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, June 3, 2011 and from 9:00 AM until the hour of service on Saturday.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 4, 2011, at the funeral home at 11:00 AM with interment following at Fairview Cemetery in Linton. Full military rites will be presented by the Frank Courtney American Legion Post #22.
