Donald E. Walser, 96, of Linton, Indiana, passed away Friday, October 26, 2007 at Linton Nursing and Rehab. He was a life-long resident of Linton born on February 4, 1911, to Everett and Iva (Waldron) Walser. On March 27, 1941, he married Essie M. Brown.
Donald served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After serving our country in the military, he retired from Illinois Central Railroad in 1975 where he was a railroad freight agent. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Linton and American Legion Post #22.
Survivors include: his daughter, Katlin E. Comer of Houston, TX; two grandchildren, Marci and Nicholas VanDerKarr, both of Houston, TX; and one niece Lynne Steckler of Poland, IN.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Essie M. Walser on May 26, 2002; one brother, Joe Walser; and one sister, Wanda Mathusa.
Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, October 29, 2007. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, October 30, 2007, with Rev. Doug Witt officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton, IN.
