Asheville, NC: Doris Beecher Wilson, died April 24, 2010 at Deerfield Retirement Community just two weeks prior to her 100th birthday. She was preceded in death by her husband of ten years, John Wilson and her first husband, Bryce Beecher (former Supt. of Linton-Stockton Schools) and daughter Susan Beecher both of Ashville.

Doris is survived by a nephew, G. Thomas Rapp and his wife Lori of Auburn Hills, Michigan; a stepdaughter Elaine Stennett and her husband Richard of Ashville; a stepson Alan Wilson and his wife Sunny of Martha's Vineyard; seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Doris was born in Linton, IN, on May 10, 1910 and following college, moved with her husband to Birmingham, Michigan, where she taught elementary music in the Bloomfield School district. Upon retirement, they moved to Asheville.

A memorial service will be held in the new Skilled Nursing Chapel at Deerfield on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at 3:00 PM with the Rev. Dick Stennett will be officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Linton, IN.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the UU Church of Asheville.
