Earhmal Lee Whitaker, 87, of Linton, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at this residence. He was born on November 29, 1929 in Clay County, Indiana to Joice, Sr. and Fern (Ambs) Whitaker. He married his loving wife, Wanda Marlene (Tibbett) Whitaker on December 21, 1972.
Lee was retired from the US Army, serving during the Vietnam and Korean War era as a Military Medic. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc in Jasonville. Lee was a locksmith, he loved to work on clocks, watches and solve crossword puzzles.
Survivors include: his wife, Marlene Whitaker of Linton; two sons, Terry (Warda) Whitaker of Greenfield and Timothy Whitaker of Clay City; one daughter, Toni (Dwayne) Rodd of Clay City; three step-sons, Greg (Ruth) Lacy of Linton, Garry (Caroline) Lacy of Elnora and Bradley (Deanna) Lacy of Linton; step-daughter, Kathy (Steve) Trump of Linton; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Whitaker of Jasonville and aunt Mildred Bennett of Jasonville.
Lee was preceded in death by: his parents; two brothers, Charles W. Whitaker and Joice Whitaker, Jr.; step-granddaughter, Jennifer Lacy.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM on Monday, November 6, 2017 at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with Bro. Jerry Carmichael and Bro. Pat Kelly officiating. Lee will be laid to rest in Peavey Cemetery in Howesville, following military graveside rites.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, November 5 and from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
