Edna Jewell (Price) Smith, 87, of Linton, IN passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013 at Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton. She was born on May 26, 1925 in Martin County, IN to Von and Fannie (Jackson) Price. She married Henry W. Smith, Jr. on April 15, 1949.

Edna was a member of the Linton First Baptist Church and the American Legion Post #22 Ladies Auxiliary. She retired from General Electric in 1985 after 20 years of service.

Survivors include: two sons: Michael W. (Donna) Smith and Donald C. Smith and (Linda Gregory); four grandchildren: Casey Smith DeArmitt, Chad (Renee`) Smith, Wade Smith and Gavin Smith; four great-grandchildren: Abigail DeArmitt, Noah DeArmitt, Samantha Smith and Genevieve Smith.

Edna was preceded in death by: her husband, Henry Smith, Jr.; her parents; daughter, Karen Elaine at birth; two brothers and seven sisters.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton on Monday, March 11, 2013, with Rev. David Tyra officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton, IN.

Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, March 10, 2013 and from 9:00 AM until the hour of service at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 11. The Smith family has requested for those who wish, may contribute to the Linton Community Food Pantry in memory of Jewell.
