Ella L. 'Rita' Hughes, 57, of Bloomfield, IN, and formerly of Linton, IN, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2010, at her residence. She was born in Linton, IN, on March 24, 1952, to James Jarvis and Dorotha Irene (Soliday) Goodman.

Rita was a homemaker and an LPN.

Survivors include her husband, Don Hughes of Bloomfield; two sons, Jon (Holly) Goodson and Chad (Melissa) Goodson, both of Linton; two daughters, Lisa (Shawn) Porter of Loogootee and Andrea Goodson of Bloomfield; and one granddaughter, Krista Goodson. Also surviving are two step-sons, Nick and Matt Hughes, both of Bloomfield and one aunt, Millie Bell of Jasonville .

Rita was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Greene County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 and from 9:00 AM until the hour of service on Wednesday, January 6, 2010. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM with Jeff Mair officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Newberry, IN.
