Elmer Weddle, 88, of Carrabelle, FL, formerly of Linton and Sandborn, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013, at Carrabelle. He was born on June 12, 1924, in Greene County, IN, to Ora Elmer and Bonnie Marie (Hall) Weddle. He married Jessie Louise Apple on April 13, 1946. She passed away on June 12, 1962. He later married Barbara J. Bechtel on April 16, 1963. She passed away on January 17, 2007.

Elmer was a US Navy and WWII Veteran. He was a member of the American Legion Post #22 and VFW Linton Post. Elmer worked as a clerical worker at Crane Naval Weapons Support Center before retiring in 1976.

Survivors include: one son, Donald R. Davenport of Linton, IN; three daughters, Marsha J. (John) Martin of Carrabelle, FL, Donna L. (Larry) Bechtel of Odon and Bonnie M. (Leroy) Pearson of Winter Haven, FL; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Elmer was preceded in death by: his parents; his first wife, Jessie Weddle; his second wife, Barbara Weddle; two sons, Edwin and Elmer Merle (Buddy); brother, John M. Weddle and sister, Viola M. Reed.

The funeral service will be held at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Dick Smith officiating. Interment will follow at the Sandborn Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites.

Visitation will be at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 26, 2013.
