Eric M. Anderson, 16, of Linton, Indiana, passed away Friday, November 23, 2007, at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born April 23, 1991, to Jason B. and Susan E. (Hallett) Anderson.
Eric was a Junior at Linton-Stockton High School. He was a member of the Sandborn Baptist Church, the Robins 4-H Club of Greene County, German Club, President of the Chess Club, Junior Civitan Club, Linton-Stockton Marching Miners where he played the trumpet, Academic Club, and National Honor Society. He was a People to People Goodwill Student Ambassador to Europe and Australia and served as a volunteer at NASA camp and the SEEK Science Club at Linton Elementary School. Eric also served as a member of the Explore Engineering program at Rose Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute.
Survivors include his parents, Jason B. and Susan E. (Hallett) Anderson, a brother, Cole Anderson at home, maternal grandparents, Diane Hallett of Sandborn and Ronald Hallett of Linton, paternal grandparents, Jimmy and Cindy Anderson of Linton, and paternal great grandmother, Mary Anderson of Linton. Eric is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Eric was preceded in death by his great grandparents and one uncle.
Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, November 27, 2007, at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel and from 9:00 AM until the hour of service on Wednesday at Linton First Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 28, 2007, at the Linton First Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Rasico officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
The family has requested contributions be made to the Linton-Stockton Marching Miners. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
