Eulene Philpott, 86, of Lyons formerly of Sandborn, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at Greene County General Hospital. She was born on August 30, 1922, in Blacksferry, KY, to Grady B. and Laura Ellen (Hopper) Fletcher. She married Jesse L. Philpott on November 20, 1941.

Eulene was an employee of American Art and Clay of Indianapolis and Keller Aluminum, retiring in 1984. She was a member of Hickroy Grove Church of Christ.

Survivors include two daughters, Sarah Frances Wilson of Cunot, IN and Mollie Hellen (Larry) Eaton of Sandborn; Grandchildren, Greg Eaton, Dana Schurz, Ronald, Ronda and Terry Wilson, Brian and Darren Cardwell, Tina Brozech and Theresa Cullison; Foster sons, Rocky Sweazy of Sandborn and Harrold Scalf of Greenwood; and one sister, Katherine Abney of Indianapolis.

Eulene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Dalmas Philpott and one daughter, Norma Cardwell, two sisters, Evelyn Murphy and Lenora Philpott, four brothers, Milton, Dalton, Dallas and Edmond Fletcher.

Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 and from 9:00 AM until the hour of service on Thursday, September 11, 2008. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 11, 2008, with Rev. Mike Roth officiating. Interment will follow at Stafford Cemetery in Sandborn, IN.
